Vintage 2016 officially kicked off on Wednesday the 27th of January with a whopping 39.2 Tonnes of Barossa Chardonnay!
Peka was a superstar on the forklift. Since then we have crushed just over 118 Tonnes of Semillon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
First crush means the start of the vintage jokes. Day 1 was; what kind of train eats too much? A chew chew train. Closely followed by; what did the fish say when it swam into a wall? Dam. This high calibre of jokes will continue on a daily basis until final crush!!
The 2016 Vintage casual crew started on Monday the 1st of February, swelling our numbers to almost double. Lunch room space is now at a premium. It’s great to have so many new faces on-site. We are sure you will see plenty of shots of them in action over the next few months. The lab is busy crushing maturity samples by foot, all we need is some music and it’s like our own little disco out there.
